Carrie Hall, O.D., received her Doctor of Optometry from the University of Houston College of Optometry in 2003. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science from Texas A&M University in 1999.

Dr. Hall’s interest in eyes began in the 4th grade with her first trip to the optometrist. Her interest continued when she worked for an optometrist during college and decided to pursue a career in the field. She provides comprehensive eye care including exams, management of glaucoma, dry eye disease, and surgical co-management. She strongly believes in building lasting relationships with her patients and is dedicated to empowering them through education and clear communication.

Outside of work, Dr. Hall enjoys reading, spending time with family, and attending school events with her children. She is also an avid college football fan.

David Nelson, O.D., received his Doctor of Optometry from the Indiana University School of Optometry and a Master of Business Administration with a focus on financial administration from the University of Wisconsin School of Business in 1991. Originally from Nebraska, Dr. Nelson knew he wanted to be an optometrist as early as sixth grade, and he’s been dedicated to helping people maintain and improve their vision for over 30 years.

During his career, Dr. Nelson served as the 80th President of the American Optometric Association and spent eight years on the AOA Board of Trustees. He also represented the AOA at global events, including the World Council of Optometry meetings in South Africa and Finland, and the Ophthalmic Council meetings in Japan. In 2013, he became board certified, a distinction achieved by only about 15% of optometrists in the U.S.

Dr. Nelson has held leadership roles as Vice President for Professional Relations at Optos, PLC, ArcticDx, and most recently, Eyemart Express. He’s passionate about education and has delivered lectures nationwide on topics like laser diagnostics, nutrition, and cutting-edge vision care technologies. He’s also worked as a consultant for top industry brands like Silhouette Optical, Nordic Naturals, and Signet Armolite.

Outside of his practice, Dr. Nelson lives in Franklin with his wife, Sheryl, and their son, Charlie. He’s a golf enthusiast, a piano player, and a country music fan.

Jessica Hines-Beard, O.D. received her Doctor of Optometry with top honors from the University of Houston College of Optometry in 2022. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Christian Brother University in 2010.

Dr. Hines Beard also completed a Master of Science in Neuroscience from Vanderbilt University in 2015. After graduating, she worked as a scientist researching potential treatments for inherited retinal diseases, eye trauma, and glaucoma. This is when she realized she could use her breadth of knowledge of these diseases to better serve patients by becoming an optometrist.

As an Optometrist, she practices full-scope optometry to provide comprehensive care for her patients, including glaucoma management, surgical co-management, specialty contact lenses, and long-term management of systemic ocular problems, such as, dry eye and diabetic eye disease.

Dr. Hines-Beard is ready to listen to meet your eye care needs. She loves to work together with her patients, so they can make the best decision for their eye health and overall well-being. Her favorite part of becoming an Optometrist is seeing the smile on a patient’s face when they say, “this is the best that I’ve seen in years.”

Outside of the office, Dr. Hines-Beard and her family are avid travelers. She enjoys good food, fancy coffee, and likes to escape to other worlds through reading.

Dr. Shirnil Channappa received his undergraduate degree in Life Sciences from Pennsylvania State University in 1995. In May 2000, he graduated from the University of Alabama – Birmingham with his doctorate in Optometry. His interest in health-related fields and interacting with patients led him to Optometry. He enjoys helping his patients solve their eye care needs.

In his spare time, he enjoys reading, traveling, and solving puzzles.
